PM Modi inaugurates 7th edition of India Mobile Congress, says ‘future is here and now’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the seventh edition of the India Mobile Congress at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi today. Addressing the mega event, PM Modi said that the future is ‘here and now’. Launching 100 5G labs for educational institutes, PM Modi said that India’s telecom sector will also play a crucial role in 6G space as well. He said that the mega event is taking place in times of rapidly changing world of 21st century. He further said that it has the ability to change the future of people.

Lauding the prowess of India’s telecom sector, PM said that the country is bettered its global mobile broadband speed rankings. As opposed to rank of 118, India has now jumped to 43rd spot, PM Modi said. He also hailed the ‘fastest 5G mobile telephony roll-out’. “Over 4 lakh 5G base stations have been set up within one year,” he said.

The 5G labs launched by PM Modi are situated across the country in locations such as Bihar, Delhi, Telangana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Assam, Punjab, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and among others. The seventh edition of IMC is also introducing a startup project. It has been named ‘Aspire.’ IMC 2023 is set to host more than 100,000 participants from approximately 22 countries, featuring approximately 5,000 top-level CEO delegates, 230 exhibitors, 400 startups, and various other key stakeholders.
